PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants. This treatment is for both male and females. 

The Process

Your blood is drawn and spun in a device called a centrifuge, which separates the plasma from the other blood components. The plasma is then removed and injected into the scalp to promote hair growth. The treatment is tolerable and ice packs are used to numb the area prior to treatment. 

How long does it last?

We recommend 4 sessions that are spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Results typically last 12-18 months, but one treatment yearly is recommended. 

Pre-Treatment

Increase water intake for 3 days prior to your treatment, the day of treatment drink 500ml of water before your appointment.

Eat a normal meal prior to your appointment.

Hair can be washed the morning of the treatment.

Can color hair up to 3 days prior to treatment.

Three days before treatment stop blood thinning medications such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Codliver oil, Omega fatty acids.

Three days before don’t take any ASA, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren or Multi-vitamins.

Avoid alcohol 48 hours before the treatment.

If possible stop smoking or limit smoking 3 days before your treatment.

You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.

You may take tylenol before appointment for pain.

Post Treatment

Avoid Sun exposure for two weeks and use a daily SPF

No hot tubs, hot shower, saunas, or exercising for 24-48 hours post treatment

Change your pillowcase the day of treatment

You can wash your hair the next day after treatment

We recommend waiting until the following day to wear a hat, make sure it is clean

No dying your hair for at least 3 days

Stop taking any blood thinning medications such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Codliver oil, Omega fatty acids for 1 week post treatment

Three days after treatment don’t take any ASA, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren
